This proposal reimagines Barking’s market as an opportunity to offer both weekly market traders and members of the local community an opportunity to contribute to the high street.
The project focusses on designing three types of market ‘stalls’, catering to a range of businesses. Typical local market elements, such as crates, fishnets, and tarpaulin are used as design elements.
This work was developed as part of group work by Jianmin Gao, in collaboration with Yina Che, Xueying Li, and Vikas Mittal.
